New Street Fighter players can poke and prod their way to a victory by playing more patiently or by wearing out the patience of their opponent, forcing an opening from a critical mistake. ![]() By offering more tools in battle, players now have more game-defining options that omit the need for newer players to master combos in practice mode for the first ten hours. While combos will always be an important part of any fighting game, SF6 doesn't cap a new player's skill ceiling until they learn them. The change to Drive System also helped open up the midrange game and reemphasize skills like pokes and footsies, opening the door for newer players to succeed. ![]() This one change alone shifts the dynamic of the fights as players are left to focus on reads and mix-ups rather than timed brute force.
